Mr. Anaxagorou from the moment of the acquisition of his diploma (In naval architecture & marine engineering - Thesis on improving yard operations using robots) he was involved in the research area of the maritime transport of N.T.U.A. (E.U. R&D programmes). He worked successfully for the projects ATOMOS II (Advanced Technology to Optimise Manpower Onboard Ships-Integration Implementation), SAFECO (Safety of Shipping in Coastal Waters), DISC II (Demonstration of Integrated Ship Control by Way of Inter-European Implementation), SAFECO II (Safety of Shipping in Coastal Waters II), INTEGRATION (Integration of Sea Land Technologies for an Efficient Intermodal Door to Door Transport), ATOMOS IV (Advanced Technology to Optimise Manpower Onboard Ships - Intelligent Vessel), TRAPIST (Tools and Routines to Assist Ports and Improve Shipping), EVIMAR (The European Virtual Maritime Institute), MARQUAL (Improving Quality of Maritime Operations through Modelling Business Processes in Shipping), MTCP (Maritime Transport Co-ordination Platform), ADVANCES (Added Value Network Concerning European Shipping). Furthermore he was involved in the NTUA’s ‘Technology & Entrepreneurship’ project.
In parallel with the R&D programmes he was involved, as a freelance professional (mechanical & electrical engineer), in the construction of buildings - working either independently or in co-operation with others - having the responsibility of the projects, C.A.D - designs, administration, supervision, and logistics. Furthermore in co-operation with architects he was involved in architectural competitions and in product (furniture) design. He has the ability to achieve results when working against tight deadlines, in a variety of projects and with different working groups.
As an expert on risk and technology assessment, designing, developing and analysing marine and technology data bases and networks, Mr.Anaxagorou now works on the projects, EU-MOP
(Elimination Units for Marine Oil Pollution), POP&C (POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL - Safe Transportation of Hazardous Goods by Tankers), and OSH (All funded by the European Union) .
He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Hellenic Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, and the Hellenic Society of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
